Diploma in Microbiology offers hands-on training in microbial techniques for careers in clinical, industrial, and research laboratories
The Diploma in Microbiology is a specialized training program designed to provide students with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in microbiological techniques, with a strong focus on clinical applications. The course equips learners with the skills required to identify, analyze, and diagnose disease-causing microorganisms using modern laboratory methods. It prepares students for careers in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, pharmaceuticals, and biomedical research.
Covers bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, and immunology.
Emphasizes the role of microorganisms in human health and disease.
Handling and processing of blood, urine, sputum, stool, pus, throat swabs, and cerebrospinal fluid.
Standard procedures for sample transport, preservation, and storage.
Isolation and cultivation of pathogenic microorganisms.
Identification using morphological, cultural, and biochemical characteristics.
Gram staining, Acid-Fast staining, and special staining methods.
Microscopic examination for disease diagnosis.
Kirby–Bauer disc diffusion method and Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC).
Interpretation of results based on CLSI guidelines.
Understanding antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
